Watershed Flood Control Dams

Program Description/Purpose: To provide for the proper operation and maintenance of the Districts' 357 USDA-constructed flood control watershed structures in Georgia and bring Category I watershed structures into compliance with Georgia's Safe Dams Act.

Program Purpose: To provide flood retarding, water quality, recreation, and water supply benefits to GA's citizens.

Program Goals: To provide financial and technical assistance to insure that District/USDA dams comply with Georgia's Safe Dams Act and maintain their structural integrity and operate effectively to continue to provide multi-purpose use, along with flood control protection.
