The Georgia Agriculture Tax Exemption program (GATE) is an agricultural sales and use tax exemption certificate issued by the Department of Agriculture that identifies its user as a qualified farmer or agricultural producer. The Georgia Agriculture Tax Exemption (GATE) is a new program created by Georgia House Bill 386, which offers qualified agriculture producers a sales tax exemption on agricultural equipment and production inputs.
Governor Nathan Deal approved the final version of the Water Supply Task Force Report in December 2011. This report outlines water supply initiatives for the State of Georgia. Through the Governor's Water Supply Program, the GA Environmental Finance Authority and the Dept. of Community Affairs will begin allocating $300 million to support water supply projects in the state over the next four years.
In January 2011, Governor Nathan Deal directed the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority to develop a program to assist local governments with the development of new sources of water supply in order to meet future water forecasts in the state. In December 2011, a Final Report was released by the Governor's Office from the Water Supply Task Force.
