Agricultural Conservation Programs

The Georgia Soil & Water Conservation Commission's agricultural programs seek to conserve and enhance soil and water resources on private lands through the use of best management practices (BMPs), funded yearly by the federal Farm Bill and delivered through the state's soil and water conservation districts.  Farmers and landowners help build sustainable Georgia agriculture by voluntarily implementing conservation BMPs on their lands to reduce soil erosion and other non-point source pollutants from agricultural land managed by the state's 40,000 agricultural producers.
