Soil and Water Conservation Districts in Georgia hold easements on over 350 watershed dams in the state but that is only a small portion of the more than 4,000 dams located in Georgia.
Using the online GIS Mapping Tool, it is possible to locate dams in areas and then look at specific locations.
Below are maps created using the GIS Mapping Tool. The first map shows a Street View of some of the dams located in Stephens County, Georgia. It is then possible to look at a specific location, in this case, North Fork Broad River Dam 06. The Aerial View gives a good photo of the actual dam site.
Using the online GIS Mapping Tool allows the public to see locations that may be difficult to view at ground level.
