The Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission online GIS mapping tool allows a landowner to look at plots of land at different scales. At the more detailed levels, a landowner can use the GIS tool to calculate the actual acreage of a plot of land. By choosing different scales, a landowner can see a given plot in relation to land features in the surrounding area.
The example below shows the same area in Tift County, Georgia, at different scales in both Street View and Aerial View. As you go through the maps, the scale decreases and individual features become more recognizable.
You can create your own custom maps of any area in Georgia using the online GIS Mapping Tool.
