Notice - Public Meeting Scheduled: Review of the Plan- EA for Town of Trion – Chattooga River Flood Control System of the Headwaters of the Chattooga River Watershed, Chattooga County, Georgia (SWCC-0016)

The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), with assistance from the Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission, has completed a Supplemental Watershed Plan and Environmental Assessment (Plan-EA) for the proposed watershed structures and flood prevention measures for the Headwaters of the Chattooga River Watershed, Georgia. The project is a federally assisted action authorized by the Watershed Protection and Flood Prevention Act, P.L. 83-566.

 A public meeting will be held virtually on Thursday, July 16, 2026 from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM using the Microsoft Teams platform. The meeting will be recorded and available upon request for those who cannot attend.

 The purpose of this meeting is to review the Plan-EA, inform the public on the proposed action, and involve stakeholders in transparent federal decision-making. This meeting will conclude the public review process as required by NEPA and NRCS Watershed Programs.
