Water Quality (Section 319) Cost-Share Projects
Watershed Management Planning and BMP Implementation Project
The Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission is working with local stakeholders and organizations in the Chickasawhatchee Creek Watershed and Coosawattee River-Carter's Lake Watersheds to monitor impaired streams in these two watersheds and identify sources of pollution.
Once monitoring is complete, a Watershed Management Plan (WMP) will be developed for these two watersheds using EPA’s “Handbook for Developing Watershed Plans to Restore and Protect Our Waters” and GA-EPD’s Watershed Planning Guidelines.
After WMPs are created and updated, BMP implementation will occur in Chickasawhatchee Creek, Coosawattee River Carter's Lake, and Scull Shoal Creek Watersheds.
For updates and additional information about this project, contact Ben Hyer at the Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission.

Brushy Creek Section 106 Project
The Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission is working with local stakeholders and organizations in the Brushy Creek Watershed to monitor impaired streams and identify sources of pollution.
Once monitoring is complete, a Watershed Management Plan (WMP) will be developed for these two watersheds using EPA’s “Handbook for Developing Watershed Plans to Restore and Protect Our Waters” and GA-EPD’s Watershed Planning Guidelines.
Although BMP implementation will not be completed with this grant, the WMP will allow the watershed to be considered for future funding.
