Notice of Availability of Draft Plan- EA for Town of Trion – Chattooga River Flood Control System of the Headwaters of the Chattooga River Watershed, Chattooga County, Georgia and Request for Comment

The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), with assistance from the Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission, has completed a draft watershed plan and environmental assessment (Plan-EA) for the proposed watershed structures and flood prevention measures for the Headwaters of the Chattooga River Watershed, Georgia. The project is a federally assisted action authorized by the Watershed Protection and Flood Prevention Act, P.L. 83-566. This information is to make the public aware of the availability of the Draft Plan-EA for review and to solicit comments from stakeholders. The Draft Plan-EA can be view and downloaded and can also be sent as a hard copy upon request. Comments may be submitted through May 31, 2026.
