Train the Trainer Courses

The new certification and re-certification course material has been posted on the Commission’s website.  To download the material:

  1. Go to Documents 
  2. Scroll down to L -  all presentations and notebook files are listed
  3. Click on the file and save the file to computer

All individuals interested in attending a Trainer/Instructor Course must first submit an application to the Conservation Commission 60 days prior to the scheduled Trainer/Instructor course date.

Eligibility Requirements for Level I (Fundamentals, Advanced Fundamentals and Awareness) Trainers

  • A four- year college degree or 5 years experience in the field of erosion and sediment control.

  • Five years experience in the field of erosion and sediment control - where years of experience are used in lieu of education requirement, a total of 10 years field experience is required.

  • Must be approved by the Conservation Commission and the Stakeholder Advisory Board.

Eligibility Requirements for Level II (Introduction to Design) Trainers

  • A four - year college degree in engineering or natural sciences or 5 years of professional licensure in the field of engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, forestry, geology or land surveying or as a CPESC.

  • Five years experience in the field of erosion and sediment control - where years of professional licensure or CPESC serves in lieu of the education requirement, a total of 10 years field experience is required.

  • Must be approved by the Conservation Commission and the Stakeholder Advisory Board.

Certification Requirements for Level I Trainers

  • A Trainer/Instructor application must be completed and submitted to the Conservation Commission at least 60 days prior to the scheduled Trainer/Instructor course date.*

  • Attend a Level I Trainer and Instructor Seminar
  • Must obtain a passing score of 85% on the Level I Trainer/Instructor certification exam.

Certification Requirements for Level II Trainers

  • A Trainer/Instructor application must be completed and submitted to the Conservation Commission at least 60 days prior to the scheduled Trainer/Instructor course date.*

  • Attend a Level II Trainer and Instructor Seminar
  • Must obtain a passing score of 85% on the Level II Trainer/Instructor certification exam.
